Save the bees! Introduce your children to nature at this botanical garden. See over 1,000 types of plant, a buzzing bee colony, and even tarantulas (yikes!). Best for ages 3 to 7

This super family friendly botanical garden is a good spot to introduce the kids to nature. It opened back in 1914, actually making this little garden the first botanical garden in Belgium.

Let ‘em wander around the garden to discover the 1,677 plant types. Best for younger children to see, smell and experience nature in a new way. Of course, there’s lots of labels and info panels (in Dutch) so you answer all their questions!

After roaming the World of Kina Garden, head over to the bee colony. Watch the bees buzzing around and making honey. And, yes, there’s a small building where you get to see and interact with the tarantulas. If you’re brave enough!

  • Scavenger Hunt: let the children loose for some family fun in the garden along a scavenger hunt. Find items and spot fairies in the botanical garden. Best for children aged 3 - 7. There’s an option for older children too (7+), but we recommend the World of Kinda House for those kids really.
  • Dummy Tree: check out the Dummy Tree in the garden. The tree filled with dummies (aka pacifiers/soothers) kinda looks like a modern art display. If your kid is ready to let their dummy go, they get to add it to the tree. Just let the Garden know ahead of time!
