Looking for stuff to do in lockdown? Get out of the house and see this unique, temporary light festival in the heart of Knokke-Heist.

The Light ART Festival makes a gallery of the city. Come and see Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night recreated with lights right over the bridge, plus tons of other artsy displays. Whether you’re looking for something to do with the gallery or just miss browsing the galleries, the Light ART festival is a free activity to check out this winter.

How Does It Work?

  • Light ART is a 3km walk. Take about an hour on your walk around to really see everything. You could even do the whole thing as a late night jog.
  • You get to pick and choose where to go along the walk. It’s not like a fixed path you have to follow. Feel free to wander and look closer at what catches your eye.

You can just drop on by for a quick nose, but they recommend downloading their app Light Art Knokke Heist for the full experience. Basically, the app will guide you around the light art and give you more info (bring along headphones too!)

The Festival isn’t just for artsy adults. Families and kids can go along the kids path for a fun and interactive experience. Museums and galleries are just starting to open back up, but this is something unique for kids to enjoy. Besides, who doesn’t like pretty lights?
