Wander the unique winter wonderland of Ghent. If you want Christmas lights, wintery shop windows, and… dragons. Because Ghent. Wanna know why?

Pop on by Graslei and Korenlei to see dragon Christmas lights. If you look up to the Belfry of Ghent, you’ll see a golden dragon that’s been watching over the city since 1377. Enjoy a stroll around Ghent and see how many dragons you can find. Plus, there’s tons of other lights and decorations to see along the way.

Start off your walk at the Korenmarkt to get in the Christmas spirit. Tons of Xmas trees and lights await you. Keep your eyes open for the Christmassy shop window displays.

  • Dragons on Water: walk along the river Lys to snap up photos of the lights reflecting off the water. Or pop in your headphones and enjoy Christmas jingles on a stroll. Either way, it’s not everyday you get to see dragon Xmas lights
  • Christmas Photos: get ready to snap up photos of your masks and your bubble beneath the Ghent Belfry. You can’t miss the winter wonderland tunnel in the square.
  • Local Lights: feel that local pride and Christmas spirit along the Graslei. Keep your eyes peeled as you walk along the river Lys for another symbol of the city. Well, is it a symbol if it’s literally the city’s name? Check out the “gent” xmas light display to finish off your 2020 album.
