Take a relaxing stroll in this beautiful botanical garden just outside the city. Maybe take a plant home with you and spruce up your digs with some lush greens
Arboretum Kalmthout is well-known for its beautiful collection of plants from all over the world, plus Belgian native plant classics. You’ll see everything from little succulents to massive trees in the gardens. The flowerbeds and ponds are picturesque too.
The botanical gardens actually started as a tree plantation in the 1800s by Charles Van Geert, where he collected rare trees and plants to protect them. Some of the trees here are 150+ years old. You can easily spend 1-2 hours just strolling and enjoying the scenery here.
